Obturation
Sealing the prepared canal system.
A RootRadar clinical pathway focused on obturation materials, sealer selection, gutta-percha technique, and the transition from canal preparation to final restoration.
What are you trying to achieve?
Apical Seal
Achieve a predictable apical seal that limits reinfection and supports periapical healing.

View ProductObturation completes the endodontic phase of care, but it should not be viewed as the final step in tooth preservation. Long-term success depends on maintaining both the apical and coronal seal. Proper temporization, timely restorative planning, and expeditious definitive restoration are critical to protecting the outcome of endodontic therapy.
After Obturation
Canal sealing marks the end of the endodontic phase โ not the end of treatment. The patient should move expeditiously toward definitive restoration to preserve the coronal seal and support long-term tooth survival. Where anatomy has been compromised, repair and regeneration may also be indicated.
RootRadar does not carry restorative materials. Definitive restoration should be planned with your restorative provider promptly after obturation.
